About Me
- The Dancing DJ
- I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. Pittsburgh has been home for most of my life except for several years when I attended college and lived for a few years afterward in New York City. I also lived for a short time in Philadelphia, PA and Washington, D.C. Obviously, I love music and dancing. I thoroughly enjoy the outdoors when the weather is favorable so we threw in an eight week soul line dancing in the park this summer. Although I have backed off a little this year due to my schedule running is still a passion of mine and I look forward to training for my next marathon. I have been blessed with excellent health, great energy and a positive spirit. On top of that I have the tremendous support and encouragement of my wife, Gail, my two sons, Roland Jr and Rashad, as well as my brothers and sisters and a growing army of friends. You deserve the praise and publicity. I like the “Pied Piper” reference. There is no doubt that you have changed the activity levels and improved the health and happiness of a lot of people. I plan to get to the park in August and stay with it through the fall. I admit that I get home and get lazy but I will do better. Thanks for sharing this nice article.

Dear Roland,
I wanted to take the time to thank you for the wonderful job you did as a DJ for my daughter's graduation/birthday party. Everyone from age 4 to 64 enjoyed the music and dancing. Those who did not dance truly enjoyed watching the line dances you taught. I didn't realize that I stayed the floor for two hours straight and my children had to remind me that it wasn't my party. The next time I call, and there will be a next time, it will be for my birthday party.
